ORIGIN OF THE WYLD HARE
Okay - so most anyone who has known me for any length of time at all has observed that my interests run the gamut. One month I am enjoying a pottery wheel class; the next I am wireworking pieces of jewelry; and next month I may be exploring the wonders of hypertufa (yes, it IS a word and a phenomenal expression of creativity as well). You may read about a cool place to vacation, a great place for a picnic, a challenging hiking/biking trail - who knows? Hopefully, there will eventually be something for virtually everyone.
I will touch upon gardening (I LOVE to grow lavender and have found several fun and fragrant projects for the buds and blooms). Peppermint abounds in our flower bed and I have developed a love for fresh peppermint tea sweetened with honey (harvested by a neighbor right here in California, KY). Mint has several medicinal uses as well - but that is for another day. (Did you know that Lavender is considered a "mint"? - who woulda' thunk?)
Since I am constantly getting a Proverbial "Wild Hair" to explore whatever grabs my interest at the time (can you say "A.D.D"?), and because I can never seem to go with "normal", I decided to play with the words and came up with the fun and spunky name which projects the very image of the unpredictable, "The Wyld Hare."
You will see that I will hop from topic to topic with great ease (and much joy and enthusiasm). I hope that you, too, will have a good time learning with me, as well as also teaching me along the way.
I will provide links to my favorite resource spots - friendly, reputable suppliers.
BUT - most of all, I want to help all of you discover that we are all "artists" - we ALL house creativity in one way or another. It may be cooking; it may be cleaning (which I will never understand, but I certainly admire and respect it); it may be nurturing a sick plant back to life - or making jelly, baking bread, painting on canvas, assembling beads into a beautiful piece of jewelry, making stained glass art, refinishing antiques ... the sky is the limit!
For most all of our interests, there will be more than one way to do things. I will do my best to present the "traditional" way, as well as easier ways to get the same, basic result -- i.e., cooked jam vs. Sure-Jell freezer jam. Both are excellent; it's just that one gets it done a whole lot quicker and easier for those who want a similar result, but don't have the time, patience or even interest in the longer process.
None of us are wrong - we are simply unique. Just embrace your quirkiness and give yourself permission to
GET a WYLD HARE of your own!!!
